Changing your handset

Before proceeding with any Hydro treatment, please make sure you have watched the video and know how to swap your MD handset for your Hydro handset. You must make sure the handsets are swapped over. The purple Hydro Filter jar is specially designed to ensure liquid does not damage your machine.

Treatment Protocol

Position client laid flat 
Set up your machine ready with your Hydro handset and filter jar, ensuring the filter jar is empty. Get the machine switched on ready to start after your cleanse 

Select your serum

Based on the client’s skin concerns, select the appropriate serum for infusion:

• Clarifying Serum - Congested/oily skin:
 For clients experiencing breakouts, inflammation, or excess oil production

• Anti-oxidant/Brightening:
 For clients seeking to improve skin tone, texture, and radiance

• Anti-ageing 
For clients looking to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Step 1: Cleanse

Cleanse using SkinBase gel cleanser, double cleanse if wearing make-up. Blot the skin dry. Put gloves on if you haven’t already. Attach the nozzle to the handset.

Hydro Treatment Directions


Step 2: Peel

Use slow steady strokes to work around the face methodically and outwards towards the lymph starting on the forehead and working down. When working on the nose, dot either side of the nostril spreading the peel up and over the nose (this is to prevent any solution from running off the nose into the eyes).  On the neck, work using methodical strokes (for more mature clients you may need to turn the vacuum down to 0.1 if  the suction is too strong or you can use the dotting technique shown in the video). Repeat this step.

Can I not just apply the peel with a brush?
Using the machine to apply the products offers several advantages over manual application with a brush. The machine’s vacuum action helps lift each area of skin, ensuring even distribution of the product and helping to infuse the active ingredients into the skin. Additionally, the vacuum action promotes blood flow and aids lymphatic drainage, enhancing the overall effectiveness of the treatment. Using your machine will maximise the benefits and effectiveness of the products. 

Whilst the peel solution is on your client’s skin, swap the peel solution for your chosen serum. Allow a couple of minutes before removing the peel using damp cotton wool pads. You should be approximately half way through your machine time now. 

Step 3: Serum

For the serum work with slow steady strokes, maintaining good skin contact across the stroke,  working around the face methodically and outwards towards the lymph. When working on the nose, dot either side of the nostril spreading the peel up and over the nose (this is to prevent any solution from running off the nose into the eyes).  On the neck, work using methodical strokes (for more mature clients you may need to turn the vacuum down to 0.1 if  the suction is too strong.

Serum: Target

Work over areas again to target, using small, slow strokes.  Allow the serum to absorb into the skin. Remove your gloves.

Step 4: Skincare 

  1. Spritz with SkinBase Toner
  1. Apply SkinBase Hydration Max
  1. Apply Daily Protect SPF

SkinBase Hydro Deluxe Facial (45 minutes)

If you offer any of the below, these can be incorporated into your facials after the serum step.

  1. LED Mask
  1. Neck and shoulder Massage
  1. Lymphatic Drainage


Maintenance

  1. At the end of every treatment, please ensure you empty the collection jar of any liquid 
  1. Clean the collection jar/handset in warm soapy water
  1. Wipe away any liquid spills on or around your machine immediately.
  1. Keep your handset clean and dry after use.
  1. To cut down on plastic waste please sterilise your Hydro nozzle for reuse.
