Valentine’s Day is a great time for marketing beauty businesses. After a slower period post-Christmas, clients are ready to spend again. Everyone wants to look and feel their best in February, and they want to gift that feeling too. Use the month of love as an opportunity to boost business and get new and existing clients in the door.

Valentine's Marketing
Remember, you may be thinking about Valentine’s marketing - but don’t just focus on the 14th. You can maximise your impact by celebrating all month long. Clients will be getting their Valentine’s prep done in the first two weeks of the month, and will want to maintain that glow throughout February. Other events during the month are good to get involved in too, such as Galentine’s day on the 13th, and Random Acts of Kindness Day (another way to spread the love) on February 17th.

Remember, Valentine’s is all about partnerships. You can use this in your February marketing too, to add value for your clients. Let’s find out how.

Local Businesses
You can partner with a local business to add more value to your retail gift packages, and get your business name out there in the community. Combine your treatment and retail gifts with other luxurious items that are high on Valentine’s wishlists to enhance your offerings. For example, partner with a local florist to add mini bouquets to your retail gift sets, or include gift cards to a local jewellery shop if you think that is where you could attract your target market.

Keep in mind that you do not have to discount your services to spread the love. Running a % off promotion can potentially have detrimental effects on future business by cheapening the treatment in your clients’ minds. Offering a complimentary mask or massage is a great way to add value for your clients, and enhance the perception that clients have of a luxury treatment. This way, they are more likely to rebook in future.
