The SkinBase skincare creams have been developed by a skincare laboratory in Barcelona that develops very high-end brands in Europe. They are specifically suitable for after microdermabrasion treatment. They are free from MI and are Vegan and cruelty free.
About the range
The range has been specifically formulated to be gentle and soothing following SkinBase treatments. Our experience has taught us that any issue after treatment generally happens after unsuitable products are applied by the client at home, or the aftercare is not adhered to correctly. The skincare range allows us to standardise the treatment and eliminate much of this issue and give therapists further confidence. Providing, or selling, the homecare cream to your client during a course will ensure the correct type of product is used at home during the course. The homecare cream should last your client the duration of a 6 week course. You can feel confident the client’s skin will feel comfortable after treatment and they will have an adequate level of protection from UV.
What makes these different from a cheaper high street brand of skincare?
The high quality and gentle nature of the ingredients ensures no adverse reactions. Clients with very sensitive skin will still need to ensure this product is suitable for them, however our testing of the product has shown it to be very gentle and suitable for all skin types during a course. This skincare range is not available on the high street. The skincare lab we have chosen makes high quality creams and this is reflected in the feel of the creams which are substantial, non-greasy and leave skin feeling velvety soft.
But I already use a fantastic product range?
That's great, please don't feel under any obligation to use the range. You can simply let us know you don't wish to receive it. We are aware many of our clients are very experienced and knowledgeable therapists who tailor their treatments and products for clients. Many of our therapists don't currently stock a specific range and our aim is to provide a high quality and suitable product for treatment.
Are there any benefits to the cream for people with acne scarring or for anti ageing?
The creams are designed to complement the microdermabrasion treatment. Anti-ageing ingredients would not be suitable immediately after treatment, or for all skin types following an exfoliating treatment and so these are not a feature of the creams. The creams are to ensure comfort and protection for the client after and between treatments.
Using your SkinBase skincare range
Purifying Gel Cleanser
Use before treatment to remove makeup and impurities and prepare the skin for treatment. Apply a small amount to the face and work into a lather. Rinse well with warm water being careful to remove all residue. Repeat if necessary. The cleansing gel can also be used to help remove crystal residue after MD treatment. Use as directed above.
Hydration Max
Use after you have removed all crystal residue from the skin. Allow to soak into the skin before applying the post-treatment spf.
Daily Protect SPF
Apply on top of the post-treatment moisturiser after treatment. This will provide the protective layer to stop light penetrating into the skin.
Daily Repair & Protect
This is the product we recommend for your client. It should be applied in the Morning and again at Night. If your client is going to be outside during the day we recommend further applications. The SPF will provide 4-6 hours of UV protection.
FAQ's
What's the difference between the Daily Protect SPF and Daily Repair & Protect?
The Daily Repair & Protect with spf is a moisturiser/spf combined for at home use.
The Daily Protect is spf to apply after the Hydration Max during MD treatment, It is thicker and provides more coverage and protection for immediately after microdermabrasion than the combined cream/spf for homecare would.
What's the SPF star rating of the SkinBase creams with spf in?
SkinBase creams feature a UVA symbol circled on the packaging. This shows it complies with EU recommendations. Star ratings are worked out on a ratio of UVB to UVA so relative to the SPF, a low SPF could have a higher star rating even if the level of UVA protection is low.
The SkinBase cream has an SPF of 30 (High protection)
UVB protection of 30 (protection against burning)
UVA protection of 10 (protection against ageing)
How long do the creams containing SPF provide protection for?
The SPF is effective for 4-6 hours. Applications should be made every 4-6 hours to ensure adequate protection from sun damage
Should clients continue to use the Daily Repair & Protect after a course of treatment
Once a course of treatment has ended clients can continue to use the cream unless they are wanting to achieve particular benefits, such as for acne scarring or anti-ageing, in which case they may want to revert to other creams for this. We would recommend carrying on with a monthly maintenance treatment for anti-ageing or acne scarring issues and the SkinBase Daily Repair & Protect would be recommended for this.

Cleansing Gel Wash. This purifying facial cleanser used during SkinBase treatments is ideal for removing makeup and impurities as part of your daily skincare routine. Suitable for all skin types.

A mild surfactant blend that has excellent foaming properties ideal for preparing the skin surface prior to your SkinBase treatments. Gentle on the skin.
GLYCERINE :
Helps hydrate, soften and soothe the skin. In addition to the general softness it provides, it is capable of smoothing the surface of the skin, slightly reducing the depth of small wrinkles. Protects against skin irritation caused by dehydration. It is an humectant type of moisturising agent meaning that it helps our skin to cling onto water and trap moisture.
SOOTHING TONER 500 ML.
Soothing and calming toner to use as part of a daily skincare routine. It can also be sprayed on the skin to lock in moisture and give the skin a cooling effect. Apply with cottons to close the pores, cool, soften and calm the skin. Suitable for all skin types.
