How to enter TOTY 2025

How to enter will remain the same And we will begin accepting entries of SkinBase Transformation of the Year 2025 in the SkinBase therapist group from 2nd January.


 Create a post to in the Facebook Therapist group with:


● High res before and after pictures*

● Business name and postcode

● Therapist name

● Client name (they can remain anonymous if they prefer)

● Treatment type/s,

● How many treatments

● Written client testimonial (how they feel now, changes they have seen etc)



Tips for Entering:
Here are our top tips for entering the Transformation of the Year competition in 2025:

Client Positioning
One of the rules for entering is the position of the clients when taking the before and after images. So you should ensure:
  1. Client is lying down in both the before and after
  2. Or, the client is standing/sitting up in both the before and after.

Posting Your Entry
When posting your entry into the SkinBase Therapist Facebook group, you simply need to upload one before and one after picture as separate original images.

  • You do not need to add your logo to images - you will be credited in the competition template with your instagram @ (or business name).

  • You do not have to put your own images into the template - Just post your original images into the group.

  • You do not have to add before and after text to images - ensure the before is on the left and the after is on the right to avoid any confusion.

Client Consent
To enter the competition, your client must give consent. They should be aware of the terms and conditions, and how their images will be used. Get them to fill in the release form (sent to your email) as soon as possible during the competition month you enter. The form is not unique to each client - so if you enter multiple times you can send them the same link.

Before & Afters
The competition entries that make it through to the final are those that show a true before and after - with the same camera, lighting, angle, expression etc. You don’t want to minimise the impact of your fabulous transformations by having before and after pictures that are not similar enough. Here are our top tips:

  • Neutral Expression: No sad face before, happy face after, keep the expression the same in both pictures, preferably a neutral, mouth closed position.

  • Same Angle: It’s much easier to compare two pictures when the positioning is the same. Keep the height and distance at which the pictures are taken the same and ensure the same area of the face is included in the pictures. Use a point of reference to help you ensure the after photo is positioned in the same way.

  • Good Lighting: Lighting is key and will ensure your images appear in focus. Natural light is best. If you can, position your client near a window, but not with the sun shining directly in. If this isn’t possible use a flash on the camera and have a well-lit room. This will minimise shadows which can make features like wrinkles and scarring appear worse than they are. Try and take the pictures at a similar time of day if you can as well. Get them back on a different day if you need to get the best picture.

  • Client’s appearance: As well as the positioning, you should try to keep the posture the same. Back straight, shoulders back, head facing directly forward. Remove any makeup for the pictures. Hair tied back away from the face, or use a hairband.

  • Background: A clear background, e.g. a blank space of wall, will ensure there are no distractions from the image.

  • Same Camera: Difference in camera quality can vary wildly, even between phones. Keep to the same phone or camera and the same settings.

  • Focus. Make sure the image is clear and in focus in both pictures. Transformations with an out of focus before picture don’t accurately show the results. Take a few pictures so you have multiple to choose from when entering.

  • High resolution images. Some phones will save at a low resolution, make sure you don't have this setting on, you want images as big as possible.
