Acne Awareness Month: Top Tip 1 ✨

Keep your skin clean - but don’t over wash it.

Cleansing your face too often can actually have the opposite affect on your skin, damaging your barrier and causing breakouts, redness and irritation. Use kind, gentle skincare and only cleanse morning and night.

Acne Awareness Month: Top Tip 2 ✨

Keep your hands OFF of any pimples or spots - don’t be tempted to pick or pop them. Putting pressure onto your acne can cause the bacteria and pus to be pushed further within your skin. You could make the situation worse, with pimples becoming more noticeable due to scabbing, scarring or even an infection.

If you are struggling with your acne - leave it to a skincare professional! Intense Pulsed Light can help you achieve the healthy, clear skin you desire. Enquire now for more information.

Acne Awareness Month Top Tip 3

Acne Awareness Month: Top Tip 3 ✨

If you have heard the common myth that sunlight is the best cure for acne - do not listen!

Stay protected in the sun by regularly applying SPF. Excess sun exposure poses a number of long term risks to the skin, and acne can worsen in the short term too. After a day in the sun, the skin will try to replenish oil levels to make up for the loss, potentially leading to further breakouts.

Acne Awareness Month Top Tip 4

Acne Awareness Month: Top Tip 4 ✨

Give your treatments time to work. Skin purging or a healing crisis is incredibly common when you begin to invest in your skin - so don’t give up. Even without purging, it takes an average of 30 days for skin cell renewal. Any treatment results will likely not be seen for at least 4 weeks, and may possibly take up to 12 weeks.

Book a skincare consultation, and see what we can do for you.
